BACK LIPOMAS (LOWER PART)

Lipomas of the lower back can be very burdensome due to pressure discomfort in armchairs, car seats, and airplane seats. These complaints do not improve but increase with the constant growth of lipomas. The back, including the lower back, is a maximally loadable zone for shear forces on the skin. Therefore, there is also, in addition to the very thick back skin, particularly robust connective tissue surrounding the lipomas, which makes surgical removal difficult and, of course, also takes up surgical time.

Patient Story:
A patient who not long ago underwent the removal of over 30 lipomas of different sizes in one session under local anesthesia on his lower back, spent 10 hours in surgery. Of course, there was no large, disfiguring, transverse incision from right to left. I operated "strategically" in lipoma groups (see above) and preferred several small, non-connected incisions. This can significantly reduce postoperative discomfort, and the scars are much less noticeable because, as is known, the human eye perceives several shorter, interrupted incisions/scars much less distinctly than a single, connected, large incision of the exact same length. The result was good in every way.

View before surgery
A 41-year-old patient with numerous lipomas of varying sizes, primarily located in the lower back area. The lipomas caused problems, particularly when sitting in chairs with backrests (office chairs, living room couches, airplane seats). In the end, 32 lipomas were removed, and the surgery took 10 hours under local anesthesia.

Präoperative Planzeichnung

The preoperative planning drawing with a strategic plan for the incisions, to remove as many lipomas per incision as possible. In total, I was able to remove 32 lipomas through a series of over 6 incisions, mostly endoscopically.

Why do we show you surgical photos?
Many people believe that surgeries are robust, blood-rich, and chaotic.
Not with us!
We operate delicately, gently, with very little blood, and with the best possible overview,
displaying all anatomical structures optimally.
We want to showcase this.
This is our surgical quality.
And this is also the reason why we have an almost "zero" complication rate in surgeries.
We aim to provide the best possible transparency for visitors to our website.
Decide for yourself, whether you would like to see these surgical photos / films.

Operationswunden postoperativ

The surgical wounds on the 6th day postoperatively.
No infection, no bruises. Fine, aesthetic scars.

Operationsnarben postoperativ

The scars 5 weeks postoperatively.
Most scabs have fallen off, and the scars are still red but healing appropriately.
