FOREARM LIPOMAS – SURGERY PHOTOS

Photo 1: Lipoma 1 "sees the light of day" and is already protruding under the skin. The hook placement (surgical assistant) is essential for strategic surgery.
Photo 2: Removing the highly lobulated Lipoma 2 through the same cut.
Photo 3: Lipoma 2 has just been removed and is revealed to be flat with significant lobulation at the edges, which generally presents a surgical challenge for complete lipoma removal.

Photo 1: The skin incision over Lipoma No. 4 shows that there is a firm, tense layer of connective tissue between the skin and the lipoma, which must be carefully dissected until the surgeon reaches the lipoma capsule surface.
Photo 2: The completely removed Lipoma No. 4. In the depth of the wound cavity. You can clearly see the impressions of the lipoma components in the tissue.
Photo 3: In the depth of the wound cavity of Lipoma No. 4, upon closer inspection, a larger nerve is visible, which the lipoma had been pressing on. It's no wonder that it must have caused discomfort. In the context of a "robust, quick" lipoma removal, there would have been a risk of damaging this nerve, potentially leading to peripheral numbness, possibly extending into the hand.
Photo 4: An enlarged view of Photo 3. The curved, fine clamp slightly stretches the intact nerve, and you can see the fine blood vessels that supply the nerve. The nerve was, of course, preserved and protected during the operation. The patient had no functional impairments.

Photo 1: Lipoma No. 5 during the removal procedure. You can see the firm connective tissue strands that connect the lipoma to the healthy body tissue.
Photo 2: After the removal of the lipoma, you can see the deep impressions (indentations) left by the individual tumor components in the healthy tissue. In the very depth, right next to the lipoma, a medium-sized arterial blood vessel can be observed.
Photo 3: The excision defect was completely filled with a fat flap, restoring the normal body anatomy.

The removed lipomas at the end of the operation, exactly as they were in the body (see surgical planning).
