BACK LIPOMAS (UPPER PART)

Similar to neck lipomas, lipomas on the upper back are operated in a prone position / "jackknife" position. Here, too, there is very firm, stationary tissue, which complicates the surgery similarly to neck lipomas. Due to the natural postoperative forward falling of the upper body and shoulders, affected patients tend to widen their carefully stitched scars themselves and tend to pull out the fat flap reconstructions. To prevent or reduce this, special orthopedic aids, discreetly wearable under clothing, can provide important support temporarily.

Rücken-Lipom Planzeichnung vor der OP

The preoperative positioning of the patient and the surgical planning.
The expected location of the axillary nerve and its branch to the skin (the superior lateral brachial cutaneous nerve) is marked more peripherally. Injury to these nerves could result in muscle weakness in the shoulder and upper arm or a large area of sensory loss in the posterior (dorsal) upper arm.

The marked, palpable boundaries of the lipoma (dotted line) and the significantly smaller skin incision following the skin tension lines (STL) to achieve the best possible aesthetic outcome.

OP-PHOTOS
Would you like to see them?

Why do we show you surgical photos?
Many people believe that surgeries are robust, blood-rich, and chaotic.
Not with us!
We operate delicately, gently, with very little blood, and with the best possible overview,
displaying all anatomical structures optimally.
We want to showcase this.
This is our surgical quality.
And this is also the reason why we have an almost "zero" complication rate in surgeries.
We aim to provide the best possible transparency for visitors to our website.
Decide for yourself, whether you would like to see these surgical photos / films.
