Photo 2: In the course of microsurgical dissection of the lipoma, a sensitive (epifascial) nerve bundle is revealed. It was connected to the underside of the lipoma (fibrously fused), and its surgical injury could result in significant peripheral numbness in the forearm and/or hand. My surgical caution and care in this case also prevented any postoperative deficits.
