LYMPHATIC VESSEL INJURY – SURGERY PHOTOS
Photo 1: Intraoperative finding during a lipoma removal procedure on the arm. Thanks to careful surgical technique, the delicate lymphatic vessel that runs over the surface of the target lipoma could be visualized and preserved. The tip of the forceps points to the (transparent) lymphatic vessel.
Photo 2: In order to remove the lipoma, the lymphatic vessel must either be severed (the "quick surgical route") or delicately exposed and dissected to be relocated and thus preserved. That's exactly what I did in this case. The lymphatic vessel remained unharmed, and the lipoma was removed cleanly ("enucleated"). The arm exhibited minimal postoperative swelling.
